Drake's has been providing New England with delicious snack cakes for over a century. In 1888, Newman E. Drake developed the beloved pound cake recipe. A few years later he opened up his first bakery in Brooklyn and began selling his pound cake by the slice or by the pound. From there, Drake's popularity grew and so did the Drake's brand with it; supplying such favorites as Drake's Coffee Cakes, Devil Dogs, Ring Dings, Yodels and Yankee Doodles.
